Incredibly rare, pristine natural white Burgundy.

"Athénaïs of Chateau de Beru is one of the most discussed producers in Burgundy today. Coming from a domain with 400 years in the making, she leads the current generation of this property. The chateau has certainly experienced its ups and downs. As phylloxera devastated the family’s vines, new ones were not planted for almost 100 years. The fruit was sold to other Chablis co-ops up until 2004 when the death of Athena’s father happened. She traveled back to the domaine to assist her mother, Laurence. It was then that she began incorporating all sorts of changes. The family began bottling their wine, converted agriculture over to biodynamic, and opted to intervene minimally in the winemaking. The reputation is only improving and Beru has become known for their Chablis wines. ‘Athenais’ is the name of her negociant project, though still intertwined with the family domain.

‘Clos Beru’ is a monopole vineyard located within the village of Chablis. The family replanted the vines during the 80's and have been farming the land and bottling the wine ever since. This is a true clos as the vineyard has been enclosed by that rock wall since the 12th century. This is a rich and minerally Chardonnay grown in Kimmeridgian limestone and aged in larger barrels."
