Romain Verger, the master behind the mind bending wines of Lé Thio Noots is something of a legend, and this take on Chenin certainly shows why.
"From a tiny parcel of 40 year old vines planted on schists at one of the highest points in Faye D’Anjou. The grapes were harvested and then pressed slowly for a whole week, then spending 8 months in old barrique.
This is as wonderfully opulent and complex a rendition of the grape as we have tasted, with a nervy acidity alongside a cascade of exotic fruits and wild herbs on the palate. This has a long life ahead of it and will surely reward those able to age this further."
