"Occteau is a Santa Barbara County based wine project. Here I attempt to express the French Mediterranean climate, capturing the warm California sun, the salty ocean breezes and proximity to the sea. The wines are centered in fruit that is delicious and compelling, combined with a nuanced, complex salty mineral driven profile. The wines contain a freshness, acidity and uniqueness that reflect the unique and dynamic growing region of Santa Barbara County. I strive to work with organic and biodynamic growers, and work as minimally as possible in the cellar, utilizing only gravity, a barrel press and minimal mechanized equipment."
